Well, it’s been quite a while since I’ve poste

Well, it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted here. In short, life happens.

I’m back now, and I plan on staying for a while (hopefully, a long while). I’m looking forward to sharing what’s working in our second grade classroom and, of course, sharing some great books along the way.

I’m ready to start reconnecting!

This is one of my new favorite books! Meg is a master when it comes to making creations out of boxes. She is an absolute master boxitech. That is until Simone enters the picture. She is an even better boxitech than Meg. Just when the jealousy was about to peak, Meg and Simone are assigned to work together on a project. What starts as a disaster ends in a great friendship.

This book has so many great uses. I used it to model summary writing. It fits perfectly with the “somebody, wanted, but, so, then” model. You could easily fit it in with character studies, a friendship theme, problem/solution, etc.
