With more than 30 years of classroom experience and over a decade of creating resources, I know how hard it is to find phonics and grammar lessons that truly work. Too often, they’re dry, too broad, or not engaging enough. That’s why, in 2014, I started designing my own teaching materials. I specialize in designing materials that improve students’ decoding and encoding skills. Along the way, I’ve also picked up some tricks to make grammar and vocabulary more fun and engaging. Now, I am proud to help teachers like you bring more clarity and confidence to all their ELA instruction.
I began teaching in 1993 after graduating from The Ohio State University. I spent my first 15 years teaching special education, and I absolutely loved it. Eventually, I was ready for a change, and I made the move to a fifth grade classroom. I taught fifth grade for three years, fourth grade for five years, and I have been teaching second grade since 2015. One of my favorite parts of the job is collaborating with our Intervention Specialist, Speech Therapist, and other specialists.
